Yeah, why isn't this not surprising... PC World, the guys behind the "top 100 high-tech products of the year", have once again confirmed what everyone else knew: that Vista is a flop, not only from the customers' point of view, but also from hardware manufacturers'.

In a top that contains other big flops (like Zune, Amazon Unbox, Office 2007- although I sincerely disagree with them here- Yahoo and even the revolutionary iPhone), Windows Vista came first, surpassing its "contenders" by far. Did we need this confirmation? Probably not, considering what people with a lot more authority have said about it. But it's good to know that other people feel the same, perhaps this will determine Redmond's engineers to be more careful with Vista's Service Pack...

Among the reasons cited by PC World for tying Microsoft's OS to the infamy pole is the "user account control" (UAC)- one of the security features in Vista aimed at giving users more control over their machine (and weaken the power of intruders), but which ended up stressing users more than Sylvester Stallone's "old age remakes". Ok, Windows Vista might not be that bad, but when you think that XP is faster, has no compatibility issues, works fine on weaker hardware and does not cost $399...hm, touch choice indeed...

The irony of this situation is that according to PC World, the best system to run Vista is...an Apple MacBook Pro...

Just like they said: "there's something deeply wrong with the universe." Yeah, it's called DirectX 10...
